Η φλουβοξαμίνη είναι ισχυρός αναστολέας αυτών των δύο ισοενζύμων, με αποτέλεσμα να αναστέλλει τον μεταβολισμό της καφεΐνης, της θεοφυλλίνης, της φαινακετίνης, της βαρφαρίνης και ορισμένων τρικυκλικών αντικαταθλιπτικών. Συγχορήγηση φλουβοξαμίνης με τα παραπάνω σκευάσματα μπορεί επίσης να προκαλέσει τοξικότητα. Φυσικά όλα όσα αναφέρθηκαν στην λειτουργία των ηπατικών ενζυμικών συστημάτων και τη δράση των διαφορετικών SSRI’s ειδικά για τους ηλικιωμένους θα πρέπει να εξεταστούν λαμβάνοντας επιπλέον υπ’ όψη το γεγονός ότι αυτοί οι ασθενείς λόγω εκφυλιστικών αλλοιώσεων γήρανσης έχουν ήδη ελαττωμένη ικανότητα ηπατικού μεταβολισμού.
